Fragility and appeasement

Testimony 7 from Nicole

Is this possible?

When I was told that the child I had been carrying for 31 weeks had probably died in utero, I was shocked and burst into tears. The ultrasound confirmed the diagnosis.

Weakened

And very quickly, I felt ashamed: as I cried, I thought that I was not up to the standard of a good Christian testimony. I felt like my tears were tarnishing God’s reputation and that I was going to cause people to be disappointed in Him, as if He hadn’t taken good care of this child and me… so, I said to a nurse: “Oh! I let myself be won over by my emotions!”

Someone authentic

I soon remembered that Jesus had cried several times. For example, following the death of his friend Lazarus… Jesus, who was fully man, was in pain and let his tears flow… He was authentic, true.

A Comforter who soothes

Through this event, the Lord Jesus was able to begin a work of profound transformation in me: He taught me to dare to feel  sadness and to bring it to Him; He taught me to respect myself. I discovered the Holy Spirit as my Comforter, yes, my Comforter!

I received His kindness, His gentleness, His tenderness. And while He soothed me, He also softened me, humanized me. Little by little, He melted away the education I had received which imposed harshness on me

There was “a time before” this event,

there was “an after”

In addition to all the inner metamorphoses that have occurred since then, the Lord has made me perceive life differently.

He also developed my empathy for those who suffer.

Receive this appeasement,

to His contact

In reality, the more I am in contact with Jesus, the more I obtain a humanity full of finesse and imbued with His character, such as deep peace, benevolence, goodness, gentleness, true love, and even a joy capable of surpassing and transcending the vicissitudes of life…

Moreover, in nature, I also realize  that fragility coexists with the force of life, like our image of alpine flowers which manage to grow in a hostile environment.

To you who are fragile

So, I would like to address this testimony to all women who are going through difficult times, whatever they may be, and who are emotionally affected by various circumstances.

You are daughters of God.

God needs

Neither your strength nor your efforts,

Nor your resistance to pain

To defend Himself or

To protect His reputation.

A reliable resource

While you are so tested, you can find resources in the Holy Spirit who dwells within you. Let yourself be enveloped in His warmth, let Him cuddle you.

Appeasement occurs

in our fragility

Moreover, it is often in our weaknesses and thanks to our fragilities that we turn more intensely to Him and that He can truly reach us. Our relationship with Him is refined. We taste His consolation, His sweetness, His tenderness. He calms us down. No more theory! No more room for religiosity! Our heavenly Father in Jesus through the Spirit becomes close, very close.

It is then that, unbeknownst to us, He looms through us, showing who He is to those around us. His grace is sufficient for us and His power is made perfect in our weakness.

Your circle

Our God cares for His children. So, He will certainly also put a handful of people on your path who will be able to surround you in such moments. Accept their support!

As for the inappropriate, even derogatory, remarks that could occur from time to time, see them as awkwardness in the face of a situation that is overwhelming and terrifying. Take them to the Lord and choose to forgive.

Happy events

In the years that followed, the Lord entrusted two more sons to my husband and me, and we had already been able to welcome our eldest son before.

The Lord is on our side! Have a beautiful day!
