Introduction

Three hundred women gathered on the 22nd of February in Martigny. Here is a summary of one of the messages given by Johanna Exbrayat.

What is a woman’s worth?

Women are gifts, created in the image of God. What beauty! What greatness! Women have divine attributes. They are treasure boxes that often go unnoticed.

According to the Hebrew, God created women by shaping them (cf. Gen. 2:18), which means that he took great care over them. Having been fashioned, women are complex beings.

Reminder

Before I talk to you about the attributes of women, I’d like to remind you that Satan, God’s enemy, deprived God’s army of half its soldiers for centuries. How did he do this? By challenging everything God had put into women, by crushing them so that they couldn’t function. We are now in a season of healing, of restoration.

According to the Bible and the women mentioned in it, I will describe what is common to all women, what makes them beautiful, what makes them valuable.

I will also talk about the possible downsides of these attributes when women misuse them, outside of a personal and intimate relationship with the Lord.

The attributes common to women and what makes them valuable

A woman is:

1.    A bearer of life

A woman bears life, both naturally and spiritually.

So, Satan challenges women by attacking them in various ways (endometriosis, abortion, depression, etc.). Satan strikes at everything to do with life; he seeks to suffocate life.

Let death be silent! We call life into existence!

2.    Influential

A woman has influence over those around her, starting with her husband and children. She has the power to bring them the Gospel, and therefore life.

The downside: as soon as she is not living with God and in God, a woman runs the risk of pursuing the wrong objective by seeking power; in this case, she becomes seductive and manipulative.

3.    Drawing together

A woman brings people together and unites them, with the Holy Spirit. This is powerful. The Holy Spirit is the key.

The downside: as soon as a woman does not abide in the Lord, she can become a troublemaker, someone who stirs up arguments and divisions, someone who chooses to sulk in order to punish others… by choosing to withdraw, a woman punishes herself.

4.    Intercessor, sentinel

Like Anne and Elizabeth, Christian women are called to be women of prayer. What an impact praying grandmothers have on the whole family! I am the fruit of a grandmother who prays. If you don’t know how to pray, start by praising.

God gives women revelations through prayer.

It’s a good idea to pray before doing anything, because that’s when God’s power is activated. Spend more time praying.

The downside of intercession is independence, a kind of isolation.

Women who have lived in a legalistic religious environment (e.g. Puritan) may have experienced various forms of abuse. Having had to live in the shadow of their husbands, some rebel and choose independence, but this is not God’s way. We are called to collaborate with men. God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.

5.    Prophetic

A woman is prophetic through the Holy Spirit, because she listens to him. She has a special sensitivity for hearing God speak to her. He gives her information that anticipates events in order to destroy Satan.

However, although they hear God, few women trust themselves and act on what He has entrusted to them.

Furthermore, churches that are against the gifts of the Spirit kill the living fibre in women which is sensitive to the Holy Spirit.

The downside of prophetic ability is over-sensitivity; the woman could then become a complainer.

6.   Strong

Men have physical strength. A woman’s strength is in her mouth.

Life and death are in a woman’s mouth. The mouth is the doorway to life.

The downside: a tendency to talk too quickly, to cause arguments, to blame, to inflict psychological and/or mental violence. All this is destructive. The tongue can be a deadly venom.

In other words, through words, a woman’s mouth can give both life and death! Watch what comes out of your mouth, ladies. If all women activated the divine part in them, they would sanctify their mouths.

7.    Teacher, because she is educated

Instruction enables us to enrich others if it is done with kindness, with a well-disposed heart so that others may be edified.

For centuries, because of a mistranslation of 1 Timothy 2, where it was written in English:

I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man

women were forced to keep silent in assemblies. However, a little earlier in this passage, it says: let a woman learn. Asking women to educate themselves was revolutionary at the time, when only boys had the right to receive education.

In Greek, the word ‘authenteo’ means ‘authoritarianism’. In other words, when she teaches, the woman must not exercise authoritarianism over a man. 1 Timothy 2 should therefore be translated as follows:

I do not allow a woman to teach BY taking authority over a man.

Therefore, a woman teaching is in accordance with the original text, as long as she does not take authority over the man.

The downside of teaching is authoritarianism, the desire to command and control, which is unhealthy and destructive. In Revelation 2:20, it says: ‘What I have against you is that you have let the woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, teach and seduce my servants.’

If women are looking for a female monopoly or are vindictive in order to dominate and castrate the men who have reigned supreme for centuries, using badly translated verses to subjugate them, they are being driven by the spirit of Jezebel. To dominate and reign over men by exercising authoritarianism does not correspond at all to the divine perspective.

In other words, a woman is not called to take authority over a man, but a man and a woman should consider each other as partners.

In Proverbs 31, it is said that a woman should teach with kindness, without exercising control.

Timothy was taught by his mother and grandmother.

Teaching is a matter of passing on life, of edification.

8.    Evangelist

The Gospel was first proclaimed by a woman (the Samaritan woman); and after Jesus’ death, the first to understand that Jesus had risen and to go and proclaim it was also a woman.

Ladies, line up to pass on the faith and enable others to move forward.

9.    Generous

A woman is generous, she pours something good into other people’s lives (elle déverse quelque chose de bon dans la vie des autres). She gives life, she gives her milk, her nights, with all her heart.

Jesus was assisted by women who showed much generosity.

The downside is that if a woman gives more than the Holy Spirit has called her to give, she becomes a doormat. She then starts to feel sorry for herself and communicates death.

A woman is a king’s daughter and must think like a king’s daughter, not allowing herself to be manipulated.

10.     Creative

A woman bears the power of creativity. She gives everything a soul, she breathes life into it (for example, by embellishing her home).

The downside is the mental load associated with it… If your brain is working flat out and focused on the mountain of things that still need to be done, you’re putting yourself at risk.

11.     Incubator

Women have a life-giving power. Everything is multiplied by women. Here are some examples:

• oif she is given sperm, she makes a baby out of it
• if she is given groceries, she turns them into a meal
• f she is given a house, she turns it into a home

Conclusion

Be aware

of how valuable your are!

Rise up, ladies!

We pray that all that God has placed in you, ladies, will be awakened! May you reconnect with what God has placed within you! Since you have opened your heart to the Lord, you already have the power of the Holy Spirit. So it’s time to rise up!

I have been called to raise up women and I see more and more women rising up. Glory to God!
